Praxeon was founded by John Hammond after a career spent experiencing value creation from different sides of the table.
As CFO and subsequently CEO of a private-equity-backed business, John experienced first-hand the challenge of turning an investment case and board-level strategy into results inside an operating company.
Moving into private equity added a different perspective: assessing businesses as an investor, sitting on portfolio boards and working alongside management teams across value creation, performance, leadership and transactions.
Praxeon brings those perspectives together.
The result is an approach that combines investor-level strategic and financial thinking with an understanding of the practical realities of execution.

03John Hammond
John Hammond
Founder & Managing Partner
John is an operating partner, investor and former CEO and CFO with experience across private-equity investment, portfolio value creation, operating leadership and transactions.
Before founding Praxeon, John spent nearly five years at NorthEdge Capital, initially as an investor and portfolio board director before focusing increasingly on value creation and operating-partner assignments across the portfolio.
Prior to NorthEdge, John spent a decade as an operator, latterly as CFO and then CEO of private-equity-backed East Coast Concepts.
His experience spans value creation planning, growth and performance acceleration, management and organisational change, refinancing, turnaround, exit preparation and transaction execution.
A Chartered Accountant, John qualified with the ICAEW and has Big Four experience with KPMG, alongside senior finance roles before moving into private-equity-backed leadership.
